A U.S Marine Corps veteran recently paid a visit to his local DMV to renew his license. He noticed there were other men also waiting to renew and some of them head religious headwear on. When his turn came to have his new picture taken, he was asked to remove his USMC cap, to which he told them he wouldn’t, twice. After an hour of talking to superiors and finding out whether he’d be allowed to wear it or not, they said he could take the photo for now but would be made aware if the decision was overruled.
He took the picture and it was processed in the end!
